An opportunity to explore the fascinating subject of space with wonderment and awe. The classes promote curiosity and inquiry, and students are encouraged to be self-directed and collaborative in their learning.

An interactive introduction to our galaxy, this course will introduce these components of the Planet Earth and Beyond strand of the Science Curriculum: 

  • Investigate the components of the solar system, (developing an appreciation of the distances between them)

  • Investigate and understand relationships between Earth, Moon, Sun, solar system, and other systems in the universe;

  • Understand that the relationship between the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun causes regular effects on Earth.

Students will develop their conceptual knowledge about the nature of science and how science knowledge has changed over time. They will share their knowledge and ideas through discussion, activities and independent inquiry.
