Madlen Kunath, our German teacher, is excited to be teaching her native language here in New Zealand with the VLN Primary School, offering students an insight into German language and culture.

We offer beginner and extension classes, where students will have the opportunity to learn and use familiar expressions and everyday vocabulary.
The focus is on speaking, listening, reading, and writing in German and understanding aspects of German culture. Topics covered may include: self-introduction, family, numbers, classroom expressions, colours and food as well as other topics of student interest. Students will use the language through interaction, games and songs.
NZ Curriculum: Learning Languages, German Level 1-2 (Communication, Language Knowledge, Cultural Knowledge).
Key Competencies: German language learning requires students to develop and use all five key competencies (Thinking, using language, symbols, and texts, Managing self, Relating to others, Participating and contributing).
