Digging deeper into the characters who come to life in stories we love to read.
Students choose a fiction book (or books) they're interested in and as a group we discuss a number activities students can choose from to help better understand their characters.
Oh No! My book doesn’t have a hero...
A hero doesn’t have to wear a cape; they come in lots of different forms. If the fiction book has a main character, they’re likely to have a hero.
Students will learn to
make strong connections with what we’re reading.
understand character development and its impact on the story
extend vocabulary and make inferences
read for enjoyment and build reading stamina.
